SW Boatworks Buys the Fleet of Young Brothers Molds
At SW Boatworks we are proud to be the owner of the Young Brothers Boats and we feel that we have good reason to be.
Since December of 1976, when Young Brothers launched their first boat, there has been over 500 hulls built. All but three of these downeast lobster yachts are still in service today. Each one of the Young Brothers boats, whether it is an inshore lobster boat or a long distance cruiser, does not leave our shop until we are satisfied that we have done the best job we can do. If an owner ever has a problem, We will be there to make it right.
At SW Boatworks, you will find that our attention to detail and dedication to quality enables us to welcome anyone to visit our shop and inspect any of our boats at any stage of completion. In fact, it is not uncommon for us to lodge customers in our homes when in Lamoine examining their new boat under construction.
Not only are our boats well built, they are also:
- Extremely Fast
- Steadier As They Get Heavier
- Not Treacherous In Their Own Wake
Young Brothers has been awarded more than 94 trophies for their wins in lobster boat races held annually in Maine. The Sopworth Camel II, a 30' hull, topped out at 64 miles per hour - the fastest recorded speed to date for a boat of this class.
